THE MCDONALD DISTINGUISHED SCHOLAR LECTURES ON CHRISTIAN SCHOLARSHIP

Sponsored by the McDonald Agape Foundation

Keynote lectures will be delivered by two giants in the field, and each a McDonald Distinguished Professor.

Stanley Hauerwas, Gilbert T. Rowe Professor of Theological Ethics Emeritus at Duke Divinity School with a joint appointment at the Duke University School of Law. The title of his lecture will be "What's Wrong with Rights? Christian Perspectives Pro and Con."

Nigel Biggar
, Regius Professor of Moral and Pastoral Theology, Director, McDonald Centre for Theology, Ethics, and Public Life, and Canon of Christ Church, University of Oxford. The title of his lecture will be "Imprudent Jurisprudence? Human Rights and Moral Contingency."

Other distinguished lectures supported by the McDonald Agape Foundation will also be included in this program. This is the first of a five-year series of lectures of cutting-edge Christian scholarship on fundamental questions of law, politics, and society.
