Witte, Alexander Receive Teaching Awards

John Witte, Jr. and Frank Alexander have received teaching awards for the 2004-2005 academic year.
Witte, Jonas Robitscher Professor of Law and Ethics, director of the Center for the Interdisciplinary Study of Religion (CISR) and director of the Law and Religion program, was awarded the “Most Outstanding Professor” honor for the eighth time by Emory Law School’s Student Bar Association. Witte also received the award in 1992-1993, 1993-1994, 1997-1998, 1998-1999, 1999-2000, 2000-2001, 2002-2003. In addition, he has been awarded Professor of the Year by Emory’s Black Law Student Association, the Most Distinguished Faculty Award by Emory University, and the Emory Williams Distinguished Teaching Award by Emory University, among many others.
Alexander has received the Crystal Apple award for Excellence in Professional School Teaching. He teaches property, real estate and finance at Emory Law School. He is a CISR senior fellow and also is the founder of the Law and Religion program and currently serves as its co-director. Like Witte, this is not the first time Alexander has been recognized for outstanding teaching. He won the Crystal Apple award in 2001 and received other awards, including the Student Bar Association Outstanding Professor award and the Ben F. Johnson Award for Excellence in Teaching.
