Emory, Eerdmans release new books in law and religion series |

CSLR Senior Fellow Nicholas Wolterstorff’sJustice in Love (Eerdmans, 2011) and Douglas Laycock’s Religious Liberty Volume Two: The Free Exercise Clause(Eerdmans, 2011) have been released in the Emory University Studies in Law and Religion series. 

Justice in Love is a follow-up volume toJustice: Rights and Wrongs.  Though justice and love are two primary principles in western ethical ideals, they have often been thought to be at odds with one another. Wolterstorff, Noah Porter Professor Emeritus of Philosophical Theology at Yale University, argues that the two are, at their core, completely compatible.

Religious Liberty Volume Two: The Free Exercise Clause is the second in a four volume work by Laycock, Armistead M. Dobie Professor of Law, Horace W. Goldsmith Research Professor of Law, and Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Virginia School of Law. Using scholarly articles, articles directed to educated readers, briefs, arguments, and documents from court cases, Laycock examines the free exercise clause and the right of Americans to practice religion freely.

The series contains more than 20 books and is edited by CSLR Director John Witte, Jr.
