Curriculum Vitae

Calo is a Founding Full Professor at Hamad bin Khalifa University College of Law and Public Policy in Doha, an initiative of the Qatar Foundation and Northwestern University to offer the first JD in the GCC/MENA region. He is also Research Scholar in Law and Religion at Valparaiso University and Fellow at the Center for Law, Economics & Finance (C-LEAF), George Washington University. He is co-editor of the forthcoming Agape, Justice, and Law (Cambridge University Press).

He previously taught at Valparaiso University Law School, Notre Dame Law School, DePaul University College of Law, and Hangdong International Law School in South Korea. He was a visiting fellow at the Brookings Institution, the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life, and the Institute for Humane Studies.

Calo practiced banking law with BuckleySandler LLP in Washington. He holds a bachelor of arts and a master of arts in history from Johns Hopkins University, a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law, and a doctorate in history from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a PhD candidate in Religious Studies at the University of Virginia.
