Professor of Christian Ethics, Emory University

Timothy P. Jackson's research focuses on moral philosophy and theology.

TIMOTHY P. JACKSON is Professor of Christian Ethics at The Candler School of Theology at Emory University. Jackson has previously held teaching posts at Rhodes College, Yale University, Stanford University, and the University of Notre Dame. He has been a Visiting Fellow at The Center of Theological Inquiry, The Whitney Humanities Center at Yale, The Center for the Study of Religion at Princeton, and The Program for Evolutionary Dynamics at Harvard.  His current research and teaching interests are in biomedical ethics and political theory. In numerous articles and several books, Jackson has focused his research on moral philosophy and theology (including medical ethics), especially the relationship between secular and Christian conceptions of truth, goodness, justice, freedom, and mercy. He has been among the leading participants in six Center projects, and now-- in a natural segue from his work on adoption -- is directing the project on "The Best Love of the Child."
