Michael J. Broyde has authored a book on Jewish law as it relates to converts. A Concise Code of Jewish Law for Converts (Urim Publications, 2017) explores the many topics and questions that revolve around the life of a Jewish convert, such as the place of a convert in a Jewish community according to Jewish law and the treatment of a convert with respect to acceptance and discrimination. "Much has been written about conversion matters recently, and too much of that has focused on the wrong issue – the virtues and vices of centralized or decentralized rabbinical courts," Broyde wrote in The New York Jewish Week. "Not enough attention has been given to the much more important systemic issues: standards of observance for conversion."
