Law and Religion Moot Court Teams to Compete in Rome |

The Center for the Study of Law and Religion at Emory University is excited to announce that two teams from Emory Law School have been invited to compete in the International Law and Religion Moot Court Competition in Rome over spring break 2025. The teams submitted briefs for the U.S. Supreme Court and the European Court of Human Rights portions of the competition. Members include 2Ls Eshika Talukder and Jacopo Capparelli and 3Ls Ivan Daquial, Kalsang Dolma, and Heaven Begum.   

The teams’ participation in the competition is made possible by a generous gift from Mr. Brent Savage. “We are grateful to Mr. Savage for the opportunity to reboot our Law and Religion Moot Court program and proud of our students who will represent Emory Law in Rome,” said Whittney Barth, CSLR Executive Director and the teams’ coach. Emory Law last sent a team to the international competition in 2016.  

During an awards ceremony on April 4, the Center will recognize the Law and Religion Moot Court teams and graduating students who have been involved in other law and religion-related activities while at Emory Law. The ceremony will immediately follow the Second Annual Law and Religion Student Symposium scheduled to take place from 11am-4:30pm. More details about the Symposium will be available in the coming months.
