CSLR Hosts Webinar: "Law, Religion, and Immigration"

On October 28th, The Center for the Study of Law and Religion in conjunction with its digital publication, Canopy Forum, hosted a virtual conference on October 28th that focused on the intersection of law, religion, and immigration. The webinar brought forth a selection of contributors to the coinciding Canopy Forum series to give presentations expanding the work of their respective articles. With the hope of addressing questions of global immigration, religious plurality, and the relationship between states and religious actors. 

M. Christian Green (the Executive Editor of Canopy Forum, Special Content Editor for the Journal of Law and Religion, and Senior Fellow at the CSLR) hosted the event and welcomed both new and returning members of the CSLR community. Over the course of the webinar, panelists acknowledged the controversies and polemics swirling around immigrants, immigration laws, the role of the state in connection to religious immigrants, and religious protection questions. Following the conclusion of the presentations, audiences participated in an animated Q&A session before its conclusion.
