A native of Connecticut, Matthew P. Cavedon is the former Robert Pool Fellow at CSLR and was the first editor of Canopy Forum's series on criminal law and religion, Conviction. He first came to CSLR after graduating from Harvard College, receiving his JD/MTS from Emory in 2015. Following graduation, he worked as a Constitutional Fellow at the Institute for Justice. He clerked for a U.S. district court and the Supreme Court of Georgia, and served as a Georgia public defender. At Emory, Cavedon taught courses on criminal and constitutional law. He now directs the Cato Institute’s Project on Criminal Justice. Cavedon’s scholarship has been published in the Arizona State Law Journal, Cato Supreme Court Review, Seattle University Law Review, and Georgetown Journal of Law and Public Policy.
