Full Professor of Comparative Public Law; University of Padua

Andrea Pin, Full Professor of Comparative Public Law at the University of Padua (Università degli Studi di Padova), where he leads the Bachelor Program in Law and Technology. Pin has clerked for the Italian Constitutional Court and held visiting positions at several universities including Emory, Notre Dame, Bar-Ilan (Israel), Lomonosov Moscow State (Russia), Reichman (Israel), and Trinity College, Dublin. He has authored six books and his academic articles have appeared in American, British, French, German, Italian, and Spanish journals. His scholarship has examined the relationship between Catholicism and Islam, European understandings of State neutrality, and religious freedom in the Middle East. His current work in the area of law and religion focuses on notions of human dignity, constitutionalism and religion, the Christian legacy of European law, and the challenges to freedom presented by emergent technologies such as artificial intelligence.
