Administrative Assistant

Emory Law is seeking a part-time (30 – 32 hours per week) Administrative Assistant for its Center for the Study of Law and Religion (CSLR). The Administrative Assistant will facilitate the operations of the programs, affiliated faculty, and students so that the center can both fulfill its educational outcomes and community-oriented goals. The ideal candidate is a person passionate about legal education as well as the goals of the center. In your first year, you can expect to work with a dynamic team to streamline internal financial processes, increase Center communications and outreach, and development innovative approaches to editorial processes for Center publications. McDonald Scholar in Residence

The Center for the Study of Law and Religion at Emory (CSLR) at Emory University School of Law is hiring for a new post-doctoral position: the McDonald Scholar in Residence. The McDonald Scholar in Residence (“the Scholar”) will work closely with Professor John Witte, Jr. and with senior staff within CSLR to ensure the success of the new McDonald Distinguished Senior Fellows Program and with Prof. Witte on his research and scholarship. The Scholar is also expected and encouraged to continue their own research and scholarship and to be part of the scholarly community of the Center.

Managing Editor, Canopy Forum

The Center for the Study of Law and Religion at Emory (CSLR) at Emory University School of Law is looking for a highly-motivated, detail-oriented, collaborative, and innovative colleague to serve as Managing Editor of Canopy Forum. Canopy Forum (CF) produces expert analysis for scholars, lawyers, clergy, journalists, policy makers, and the broader public with the aim of fostering productive public discourse on critical issues at the intersection of law and religion. Launched in 2019, CF has grown exponentially, each week publishing several articles and averaging 2,000 unique pageviews and recently surpassing the milestone of 500 essays published. With readership in nearly every country in the world, our growing community of more than 300 authors comprise some of the leading thinkers in law, religion, philosophy, sociology, as well as practitioners in these fields.

Editorial Assistant, CSLR

The Center for the Study of Law and Religion at Emory (CSLR) at Emory University School of Law is hiring an editorial assistant to work with both our Journal of Law and Religion (JLR) and Canopy Forum (CF). We anticipate that an early career graduate student would be ideal for this position, someone who would work with our current team to assist in the management of the editorial processes for both publications. This would include, for instance, working directly with authors, managing the submission process and timelines, etc.
