George M. Walters-Sleyon possesses an interdisciplinary/international academic background. He earned his PhD from the University of Edinburgh in Practical Theology, Comparative Criminal Justice/Criminology, and Ethics (Christian and Social); he also served as a Tutor at the School of Law and the School of Divinity. George earned the MDiv. and S.T.M. from Boston University in Philosophy, Theology and Social Ethics and holds a B.A. in Theology and Church Administration from Central University College in Ghana. He is the founder of The Center for Church and Prison, Inc. – a resource and research center that studies the intersections between religion and the penal system – and author of the book: Locked Up and Locked Down: Multitude Lingers in Limbo Revised Edition.
