Dr. Rahimjon Abdugafurov is the Muslim Chaplain and Director for Interfaith Academic Partnerships, Emory University. As a senior fellow at the CSLR, Abdugafurov conducts research on Islamic Mysticism from the perspective of Religious Humanism, Islamic Law with a focus on women’s rights, and Muslim relations with non-Muslims. He has published on a variety of Islamic legal themes, Islamic Humanism, Islamic Theology of Abu Mansur al-Maturidi, and Women and Higher Education in Central Asia. He has taught courses on Islamic Law, Central Asia and Afghanistan, in addition to Arabic language courses.
